Re: Yet another WiDi problem

$

Ok "Joe" for the record:

1. I DID install it all in the correct order as prescribed by your very redundant, condescending reply

2. Your WiDi installer (Setup4.2.19.0) which your driver update app told me to download yields the following error: This platform is not compatible with Intel(R) WiDi. Your graphics driver cannot find or load necessary components for Intel(R) WiDi.

Interesting because this is all intel hardware. And it all worked with WiDi to begin with.

THERE IS NOTING WRONG WITH MY HARDWARE. IT ALL WORKED JUST FINE UNTIL YOUR AUTOMATIC UPDATE WAS INSTALLED. THE PROBLEM IS CLEARLY YOUR DRIVER AND APPLICATION.

3. Stop feeding me the textbook crap. Either admit that you can't fix the problem and let the software engineers do their job and fix the buggy stuff, provide me with a working solution or send me the old driver/application such that I can use my hardware again. At this point I have no interest in your "new" crap because IT DOESN'T WORK!!!! And from reading the threads in this forum, I'm not the only one experiencing this.

82579V Win8 reporting "No Internet Connection", but connected

I'm pulling my hair out here.  I've reverted drivers back to the Microsoft drivers, re-installed various times and think I have this issue fixed only for it to come back a few days later.

82579V on Windows8 is reporting "No Internet Connection".

I am able to connect fine, tried static and dhcp configs, setting 100/full duplex and auto, "wait for link" auto and off.

Motherboard is an Asus Maximus Gene V.  Provided drivers have the same issues, and I'm out of idea's.

I'm having this same problem on a Dell XPS17 with the Intel Centrino Advanced 6230. I check the linked thread above that is marked as answered, but that applies to businesses with Cisco APs. I'm at home connecting to a TP-Link WR1043ND.

Same symptoms, wireless connectivity mysteriously drops every minute or so. Event ID 5060 in my logs multiple times each minute. A constant ping to my router shows frequent time-outs and high latency at times.

Driver version is 15.9.0.5 for some reason even though I installed the latest 16.1.1 installer. Windows 7 Home Premium x64 My router is using WPA2-PSK on 802.11n

Yes,I tried to do that, in multiple different ways.

In all cases,  the BIOS says the array is "FAILED", and refuses to boot from it. There seems to be no

way to add the replacement disk to array, or mark it as a spare.

Dear Nic, dear INTEL,

is it already known about when the new Drivers with the "Minecraft-fix" will be released ?

I would be really thankful if you would be so kind to inform us here inside this thread as soon as you release them, so we can spread this information to the Minecraft Community.

As for as I understood the statements inside the thread at Mojang's Bugtracker Mojira, Mister Erik Broes (aka "Grum", Developer of Minecraft) made some suggestions regarding how to fix this issue "forever", but sadly we don't have any update whether or not INTEL has come back to him regarding that, and if the fix will be done in a way preventing the same thing to happen again in the future.

Any statement on this subject would be really highly appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance,

kind regards,

Meri

DH87RL do not detect TechnoTrend S2-4100

The Intel mainboard DH87RL do not detect the television card TechnoTrend S2-4100. This means neither the Bios nor lspci see this card, which has a PCIE 1.0 one lane interface. The Bios version of the mainboard is 0320 (release date 2013-06-06).

On a compatible mainboard, lspci -v displays following information about the television card:

02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7160 (rev 03)

Subsystem: Technotrend Systemtechnik GmbH Device 3010

Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 7

  Memory at fdc00000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M]

  Capabilities: [40] MSI: Enable- Count=1/32 Maskable- 64bit+

Capabilities: [50] Express Endpoint, MSI 00

Capabilities: [74] Power Management version 2

  Capabilities: [80] Vendor Specific Information: Len=50 <?>

  Capabilities: [100] Vendor Specific Information: ID=0000 Rev=0 Len=088 <?>

Is it possible, to fix this compatibility issue or do I have to buy another mainboard?

SATA/SAS capable controller RSTe pass-through mode in Linux

$

Hi,

I recently purchased a S1400FP server board along with the upgrade key C600 (RKSATA8R5) for enabling all of the 8 SATA/SAS ports in SATA mode.

However it is stated in the monthly specification update that RSTe is not supportable in linux operating systems, it did not mention that the pass-through mode did not work.

Can someone confirm that this is the case and provide information on whether this is planned to be fixed or not fixed?

I have 4 disks in a OS controlled software raid 5 (by mdadm) and want to use the pass-through functionality of the SATA/SAS controller. THe problem that I am seeing is the following:

* Every second time I reboot, only 2 of the 4 drives are readable and mdadm fails to reassemble the array

* All other times I reboot, 3 of 4 drives are detectable, and the array is assembled in a degraded mode.

* It is always the same hard drives that fail. The hard drives are in working order (bad blocks and smart tests are performed)

* When I move all drives to the AHCI sata ports all drives are detected and the raid assembles perfectly, always (i rebooted 10 times).

* I have seen similar problems on other server boards here:

S2600CO & pass-through disks

* My hard drives in the raid array:

Hard drive HDD1 is the one who is never detected by the SATA/SAS controller, and HDD2 is detected every second time I reboot. When I loog into the OS, HDD2 is always readable, but HDD1 is never readable. They all work on the AHCI capable SATA controllers without problems.

I am aware that this could be a HDD firmware related issue, but I would like to make sure it is not a known problem with the SATA/SAS controller pass-through in S1400FP first.

I appreciate all the help and tips I can get to fix this issue as I really want to use the SATA/SAS controller in SATA pass-through mode.

Thank you

I have random reboots.  It's not suppose to be overclocked.  There is no info about any problems.  Had it in the shop and ran videos for two days and no problems.  It now seems to reboot when Idle.  Everything has been checked and is OK.  Has there been any issues with i7-2600K 3.4ghz (LGA1155)  and the Asus P8P67LE MB.

thank you

Opening Graphics Properties Crashes Computer

$

I have an HP PAVILION G6-2237 running windows 8 and a older sony TV with DVI input.  I have HDMI to DVI adapter which can connect to the HDMI output on my HP G60 PC without any problems.

When I connect this TV to the HDMI output on the HP Pavilion G6, by default the dispay is cloned to the TV but the resolution on the TV is not correct.   When I right click on the desktop and select "Graphics Properties" to adjust the settings.  The computer crashes.  I can open the graphics Properties when the TV is not connected, but it crashes every time the TV is connected and I attempt to open the program.

I have tried this with both versions of the Intel HD 4000 Graphics driver on the HP website:

9.17.10.2857 and 9.17.10.2843

Any suggestions?

Matt

Can't start computer with Intel Integrated graphics

$

Hi, I'm new.

I have a GA-H61M-S2PV motherboard with an Intel G645 processor and an nVidia GT630 gfx card. Power supply w450 and a 2gb 1333 ram. 1TB Seagate HDD.

I want to replace the card so I wanna remove it and switch to Intel graphics while I wait for my new one.

The problem is I can't seem to get past bios like that. Motherboard logo shows then after a while the computer restarts and keeps going like that. Whether I remove my gfx card or leave it. Cable's plugged in the integrated graphics port. Normal one not HDMI.

During this time I can only access bios and other basic stuff del key,  F12 choose boot menu, F9 info ...etc

Windows logo doesn't show up, can't access windows boot menu either or use F8 to load in safe mode.

Thank you in advance.

- Clearing cmos with and without gfx card installed doesn't fix it.

- Reflashing the bios, shutting the computer down, removing the card and starting without it doesn't fix it.

Having the same problem. GPU is Ivy Bridge HD4000. Installed the latest driver v. 3165. Quake 3 is way too dark. Tried changing gamma setting with no result.

I noticed that this only happens when using full screen. Searching on the internet brings many posts on OpenGL games. Finally found somewhere the solution. Changed this value in configuration file to

r_overbrightbits 0

after that brightness slider works again.

Should work for Sandy Bridge as well.

Good Luck

S25-M 160GB SSD Will format as FAT32 but not as NTFS. What's up with that?

$

Windows 8, Intel SSD 160GB.  NOT the system drive.

When I installed the drive the system saw it.  I then tried to format it as NTFS but Win 8 would not format the drive that way.  After a few failed attempts at that I tried to format it as FAT32 and that worked.

I can probably use the drive fine in FAT32 mode, but I'd prefer to use NTFS.

Do any of you have any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks,

Rich

hey, i made account here just to let u know that im willing to cooperate with anyone interested in lawsuit. i feel cheated that in high-end ultrabook (dell xps 12) such key feature as wireless adapter is not working correctly.

and whole year without solution is a joke. but hey, here's an idea. we can make jokes too, i think i'll email every single tech site i can think of, letting them know about how ridiculous is intel approach to their customers. i hope some art will come out of it here and there so people can at least google 'intel xxx issues' before they spend their money on ur products.

Intel 4th Gen Thermal Material Lifespan?

$
0
0

Okay, so this question is relatively simple. What is the lifespan of the thermal material used underneath the IHS of the i7-4770k (and other 4th gen desktop CPU's)?

I've heard from one place that it has an effective lifespan of around 3 years, but from another that it will last for over 10 years (if not over 15). But I've seen no proof or evidence for either of these statements, so I'd like to try and get a solid answer (maybe with proof?) from someone on here. I usually like people's opinions on such matters (and they shall be very much appreciated); however an actual solid and definite answer would be perfect

Extra info:

I'm looking to get either an i7-4770k or an i7-4820k (upon its release). I intend to keep the computer for a *long* time, as it will be passed over to a parent when I no longer have a use for it. Obviously the solder will basically last forever (presuming / hoping the 4820k will be soldered), however the 4770k will use less power and is slightly better for general use (slightly higher IPC, and again presuming that the 4820k will be around the same level of performance as the 3770k, going by the performance difference between the 3820 and 2600).

Intel® DB W-AC 7260 adapter size and antennas

$

Hi, about Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is it compatible with Notebook Aspire R7 ?

Are there two sizes ? Because then which one match?

And what about internal antennas, do they come with the package?

The Aspire R7 already have a main and aux internal antenna, but because the device has certain WiFi problem with the pre-installed 802.11n adapter, it might be worth getting the correct antennas with the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

Re: Intel® DB W-AC 7260 adapter size and antennas

Internal antenna cables don't matter. They can't tell whether they're receiving 5 GHz band or 2.4 GHz band or 802.11n or ac etc.. It all depends on the Wi-Fi adapter. All of the mini-pcie half height cards have the same antenna plugs so you can just swap the Wireless-AC 7260 without any problems.
